Weathery

Forecast your plans.

Overview

Weathery is an AI-powered weather app designed to help users plan their day by connecting weather forecasts to real-life activities, preferences, and apps. Rather than just reporting the weather, Weathery delivers actionable suggestions based on personal goals, events, and behaviors.

My Role

On this project I acted as Product Owner, Researcher, and Designer as this is a net new idea I wore many hats.

Problem Statement

Most weather apps focus solely on displaying conditions and forecasts. However, users often need help interpreting that data to make decisions like what to wear, when to go out, or how to adjust plans. There’s a gap in the market for a tool that goes beyond weather to contextual guidance.

Our Goals

Enhance the forecasting capabiities: Create a stronger connection between forecasting and personal planning. There are so many facets of planning one’s day that this would be a proactive companion to each user.

Integrate AI: Integrate Generative AI-enabled experiences that allow access to read data within other apps and surface them to the user in an informative and actionable way.

Research

10 Interviews • Students - Working professionals - Parents

Surveyed 150 users on daily weather habits, planning needs, and frustrations.

Key Insights

  • 65% of users use more than one app to make daily plans (e.g., calendar, shopping, fitness).

  • Users want recommendations, not just data.

  • Users are overwhelmed by app clutter and crave focused, calming interfaces.
